Camp Facilities
Located in Freedom, New Hampshire, Cody sits on the southeastern edge of the spectacular White Mountain National Forest. Cody's grounds include close to 100 acres of woodlands and three-quarters of a mile of beachfront property along the shores of Lake Ossipee.
With millions invested in the past decade alone, Cody is one of the most well-equipped summer camps in the country. All of the buildings are either new, or have recently undergone major expansion or refurbishing, and almost all of the equipment is updated or replaced approximately every five years.
Cody boasts over thirty cabins for campers and staff, all of which have electricity, fully-equipped bathrooms and cubbies for belongings. Each cabin houses approximately six campers and three counselors.
Cody's sports facilities include a baseball diamond, as well as a soccer field and a football field. There are also two volleyball courts, two floodlit street hockey and roller hockey, and roller-hockey arenas, a floodlit five-aside soccer arena, two floodlit basketball courts, and seven tennis courts (four floodlit). Cody also has a modern riflery range and two archery ranges.
Camp Staff
At Camp Cody, we take great pride in the exceptional staff we hire. Our average counselor age is 25, and most of our team members are either professionals currently working with children or are studying to pursue careers in education, child development, or related fields. This ensures that our campers are surrounded by mature, responsible, and passionate role models throughout their summer experience.
We also bring together staff from all around the world, creating a vibrant, multicultural community that enriches the camp experience for everyone. With a deep commitment to camper well-being, fun, and personal growth, our staff is truly the heart of Camp Cody.
Camp FAQs
- Our mission is to offer boys and girls experiences rich in fun, friendship, learning, and adventure. To facilitate this our program goals include: offering children a traditional camping experience; providing campers and staff with the opportunity to live, learn, and grow in a safe, supportive community; to increase self-esteem and social skills; and encourage respect for themselves, others, and their surroundings.
- Camp Cody is proud to be a 5th-generation, family-run camp, guided by a dedicated and experienced leadership team who are deeply committed to preserving the spirit and tradition of Cody while continuously evolving to meet the needs of today’s campers. Our Director Team includes Philip Ross, whose lifelong connection to camp drives his passion for creating a safe, enriching, and welcoming environment; Sheri Ross, whose warmth and attention to detail support both families and staff; Anna Gross, who brings a deep understanding of camp culture and camper care; Rachael Ross, who oversees family communication and camper experience with a personal and thoughtful approach; and Nick Blackburn, whose leadership and international camp expertise help bring the best of Cody to life each summer. Together, this team brings decades of combined experience and a hands-on, heart-forward approach to everything they do—ensuring every camper has a meaningful and unforgettable summer at Camp Cody.
- Camp Cody is set on nearly 100 acres of naturally wooded property with over a mile of beautiful sandy shoreline along Lake Ossipee—a warm, clear lake that stretches four miles long and two miles wide, with a clean, natural sand bottom perfect for swimming and watersports. Nestled in New Hampshire’s stunning Lakes Region, near the edge of the White Mountain National Forest, our setting is both secluded and spectacular—providing the ideal backdrop for outdoor adventure, personal growth, and lifelong memories.
- Camp Cody offers some of the best-equipped and well-maintained facilities in the camping world, designed to support a wide range of interests, activities, and camper needs. Many of our buildings have been recently renovated or newly constructed, and our program equipment is continually updated to remain safe, high-quality, and age-appropriate across all activity areas.
- At Camp Cody, our camper cabins are designed to offer a comfortable, safe, and community-oriented living space where campers can relax, connect, and feel at home. Each cabin is equipped with electricity, in-cabin bathrooms, and individual cubbies for personal belongings. All cabins feature private showers, ensuring comfort and privacy for every camper. We typically house 6 to 8 campers in each cabin, along with 2 to 3 adult counselors, creating a supportive and well-supervised environment. Campers are grouped in cabins with peers of the same age and session length. For example, campers enrolled in a 4-week session will live with others also staying for 4 weeks—fostering stronger connections and a consistent cabin experience. Our cabins are more than just places to sleep—they’re the heart of camp friendships, shared laughs, and lifelong memories.
